EVE : New EVE WebSite
Posted by John Stacy on 2012/2/8 13:30:53 (0 reads)
EVE

We are pleased to announce the launch of the new EVE Online website on Tuesday, 7th February. Due to the updates across our websites for this launch, here is some information regarding the changes:

What is the new website?

We have taken the aspects of the previous website that explain what the game is and created a better front facing website for EVE Online. The new website now has information about the various elements of the universe, the rich sandbox gameplay, visuals and how passionate our players are towards each other and the game. EVEOnline.com now offers a better insight into EVE that is easier to understand, fun to explore and something to be proud to share with the world.

What does this mean to me as a current player?

A new community website has replaced the old EVE Online website and will play host to the various resources and support tools existing EVE players use on a regular basis. This means the community and current player related pages that were located on eveonline.com before the updates have been relocated to the EVE Community website. Here is a quick guide to help you go directly to specific pages there:

•Operations will no longer allow more than 16 Operations Group members to enter concurrently.

Karagga's Palace
•G4-B3 Heavy Fabricator will no longer respawn more than once if players have not defeated Karagga.
•Fixed an exploit that would allow players to repeatedly loot the chest after defeating Jarg and Sorno.

Miscellaneous Bug Fixes
•Fixed an issue that could cause graphical inconsistencies, which most often manifested as random screen "flickering."

Warhammer Online : Week 9 Report -- Big Patch Inc
Posted by John Stacy on 2008/11/18 11:05:44 (0 reads)
Warhammer Online

Hi again folks,

This week should be a pretty exciting time in WAR. Patch 1.0.5 is headed our way and it looks to be a big one. For this week's report, I will try to highlight some of the things you can expect to see...

Update 11/14/2008, 3:30 PM EST: The Heavy Metal event will begin Tuesday, November 18, 2008 in order to coincide with the release of Game Update 1.0.5. Please watch the Herald for more details!

Q. Will the Heavy Metal event introduce an open RVR component, like Witching Night did? I'm looking forward to what sounds like a really cool Reikland Factory scenario, but I'm also hoping that there will also be considerable encouragement for open field combat.
A. Each event is different, and there is at least one daily task that encourages open RvR, but the Heavy Metal event focuses mainly on our unique temporary scenario, Reikland Factory.

Q. With the new Careers, will we also get a new character slot?
A. We don?t have plans to add another character slot for the new classes.

I could go on and on, as there are many planned changes for each of the classes as well as the addition of one new class per side. There are links and discussions about the patch over at www.warhammeralliance.com if you are interested.

Congrats to The OoD on rank 17! One step closer to rank 20 and getting our emblem on our cloaks. Also, all guild members can speak in Alliance chat. Just use /as (text goes here) to speak with our friends over in MiM and Lost Empire. I highly encourage each of you to use this to help with PQs and scenarios.

Have a great week and I'll see you in-game!

Warhammer Online : Week 8 Report -- T4 and Recruiting
Posted by John Stacy on 2008/11/10 8:29:27 (0 reads)
Warhammer Online

Hello again folks,

Now that the dust has settled from our transfer, it is time to take a look at where we are and what we need to do. It seems as though we lost several people during the move and we need to shore up our numbers as we move into T4. I am calling on each of you to act as our recruiters, scouring the scenarios and PQs for people you think would be a great fit for The OoD. If you notice someone unguilded and think they would be an asset to our guild, point them to our website or put them in touch with an officer. We do not have level or class requirements. A friendly personality and a good attitude have always been the top things we look for in potential members. So, if you see someone you think has what it takes to fit into our group, let's get them onboard and try to grow our online family.

After many weeks with us spread out over different tiers, it looks like we are starting to get good numbers for folks in t4 (lvl 28+). Now that we have this larger group, we need to start looking at forming OoD raiding groups, scenario groups, and oRvR groups. I am planning on continuing my Wednesday raids (either Gunbad or PQs) and I hope that some of you will take the opportunity to start your own weekly raids. You should all have access to the guild calendar and I encourage everyone to use that or these forums. Keep in mind that we also have a great alliance and many opportunities there to get into some action.

I want to take this chance to welcome a few new members to The OoD. Rugby, Ravnoc, and Voldrath have all joined us recently. They each transferred from other servers and we hope they have found their permanent home with us here. Be sure to say hello when you see them!

I know the last few weeks have been a bit crazy with the transfer. I hope everyone can start to settle in and get back to our normal routine. Personally, I am very excited about getting bunched up again in T4, because the best times I have in this game are always when I am in an OoD group. If anyone has any suggestions, comments, or ideas about how to make our WAR experience better, please post here or contact the officers.

Thanks and have a great week!
~Mord
