So here's the scoop on Fire Temple that I've found so far. I'll edit as/if I run across more info. I've included many links to help, so click away where interested, and be sure to read the comments on the linked pages and look at the screenies!

Getting keyed for the instance:
Farm mobs inside of the non-instance Kyola Temple to obtain the Fire Temple Key. They all seem to have a chance to drop it. The drop rate seems to be hit or miss. Some have farmed for hours, while the other night while in there for other quests, I had 5 drop for me in about a half hour. At level 30, you can click on the key for a simple turn in quest to the guy at the fountain right outside Kyola Temple

Entering the Fire Temple Instance:
Once keyed by completing the quest above and ready to group up with folks, you can get to the entrance for the instance by going back inside Kyola Temple and following the path until you get to the first room. Inside the first room, go into the room on the right and to the end of the room to the portal. Click away!!

Congratulations! You're now inside the instance!! Here's a Map of the place. It's fairly linear in a C shape with some rooms that branch off that path that contain mini bosses, trash mobs, and occassional quest stuff.

Before diving into the mini bosses and the rest of the stuff, here are some things to keep in mind. I'll note items of interest for the mini bosses, but most aren't worth it IMO except where I specifically mention them. I'll provide links to additional info for them though, so you be the judge!

My general take on running this is that for normal runs, in the interest of best loot for the time invested, just focus on a very select group of the mini bosses if they're present (each one may or may not spawn) and make an otherwise straight run for the boss. Most everything in here is spank and tank, with a decently balanced group. The boss drops gold weapons for pretty much class, IF they drop. As seems to be the case for any other boss mob (mini or main), they may or may not drop the good stuff. However, the main boss here is easy to get to in a short amount of time and at least has a chance to drop something worthwhile for at least someone in the group. It is possible for the trash mobs to drop greens, blues and even golds, but it?s very rare, like a world drop.

From some of the board comments while digging through, it sounds like it?s possible that the mini bosses, possibly all of them, MAY drop gold items, but it definitely seems to be hit or miss, especially when you consider the very low drop rates for gold items in the loot tables and that they may not have even spawned. The loot tables for them also don?t reflect golds or blues except where I noted below, but some of the comments from posters seem to indicate that these mini bosses MAY drop other items not listed yet

So for these reasons, I stick with my original take on a short, focused run, with main focus on being to farm the end boss, since she?s always there, and the loot info is much more complete for her.

Outside of this type of run, if you're more interested in XP grinds, clear everything and do whatever you want in here out of the mini boss rooms as the XP is worthwhile, especially in the low 30s. However, be prepared for a much longer run.

For this write-up, I'll provide some additional details but will otherwise assume you're going for the quicker run. On to the walkthrough!!

If going for a quick run, in the first actual room, clear a path to the wall towards the northwest, by the entrance to the path towards the 2nd room. At the northwest wall in that first room, face the wall and use your mouse and radar to look in the northwest room. You're looking for a cluster of 3 mobs all grouped together in around the center of that room. If you see a mob called Lava Gatneri, it means the mini boss boss is there and you'll want to make your way to that room. Otherwise you can skip it if you like as just trash mobs will be in there

Continue clearing your path out of the 1st room and down the linear path. As you go, you may run into another mini boss called Silver Blade Rotun. It actually has multiple paths it can roam if present, so keep an eye out for it. See the map for possible paths for this mini boss.

Silver Blade Rotan
Drops of interest (see link for loot table with item info):
Green Cloth and Chain Chest from instance set (note - no bonuses for the sets in here)
Green Rings (one for melee and one for casters)

As you make your way down the linear path from the first room, you?ll run into a X shaped branch, with you coming from the southeast ?leg? of the X branch. If Lava Gatneri was there when you looked, take the fork that goes to the northeast.

Lava Gatneri
Drops of interest (see link for loot table with item info):
Gold Greatsword and Spear
Green Cloth and Chain Boots and Gloves

I recommend skipping this next one, but in the northwest part of the X branch you may find that the following mini boss has spawned. You can see if he?s there or not from outside the room, so you don?t need to clear the room if he?s not there unless you want the XP. If you?re going this route though, you?re probably on an XP run. Ignore the vendor Liurerk if he?s in this room. At this time, he appears to be there just for Asmo. I?ll update if we find out otherwise

Blue Crystal Molgat
Drops of interest (see link for loot table with item info):
Green Leather and Plate Boots and Gloves

Once done exploring the northern 2 paths of the X branch, continue along the path to the southwest turning straight south to the next junction. In this junction room, you may see the following mini boss, which I recommend hitting if he?s there as he has usable loot, and heck, you have to come through here anyway!

Tough Sipus
Drops of interest (see link for loot table with item info):
Blue shield
Green Belts (one for melee and one for casters)

Once done in the Tough Sipus junction room, I recommend following the west-southwest path and into the northwest room there, poking your head in to see if the following mini boss is there. The drops aren?t that great, but better earrings than what most will have in the low to mid thirties, and usable by the whole group

Broken Wing Kutisen
Drops of interest (see link for loot table with item info):
Green Earrings (one for melee and one for casters)
Green Leather and Plate Chest

Once done with Broken Wing?s room, go to the room south of it, southwest of the Tough Sipus junction room. This is the boss room. Apparently, the boss has a normal elite form, and a more elite form that you have a chance of running into about 5% of the time that is supposed to be harder, but has a better chance at dropping improved loot. When she appears as Vile Judge Kromede, she?s in her more elite form. When she appears as Kromede the Corrupt, she?s in her normal elite form. Keep in mind, drop rates are extremely low (as in single %s) for decent gear from the comments for her

She has an AOE attack that changes with her health, going off more frequently at % milestones. Following the AOE, she?ll drop some traps for additional damage. Lastly, when under 25%, she can cast her Last Struggle AOE which does a fair amount of damage. Just spank and tank her, and be ready for the group heals with her AOEs and traps

Vile Judge Kromede
Drops of interest (see link for loot table with item info):
Gold Weapons (each type)
Blue Necklace (caster gear)
Green Helms for each type (one for melee and one for casters)

For those groups that want to continue on along the C shaped path, only a few more rooms to go. Once Kromede is defeated, you can go back to the Tough Sipus junction room and this time take the south path. This leads to an insane room for lower level 30s, at least for now. The only reason I?ve found so far to go to this room is if you?re working on the second quest from Hannet?s quest series (see Instance Quests section below) to talk to Chalice Guard Denlavis

At this point, the mob linking in the room appears to be bugged. If either of the 2 gargoyle patrol mobs by the entrance into the room get aggrod (one that comes from left and other from the right), it ends up grabbing a whole bunch of other mobs in the room and is almost surely a wipe.

Apparently, once you reach around 35 or 36, you can avoid the mobs in the room a bit due to having a smaller aggro radius. The only other strategy I?ve heard for this room (under the comments for the second quest in Hannet?s quest series) is to have one person aggro the room and run like heck as far away as they can, bringing the mobs with them, while the others complete that part of the quest. Then rinse and repeat for the person that did the first suicide run.

We?re continuing to experiment with strategies for the Denlavis room in its current state, but with little luck so far. More to follow if we find something that works. Hopefully, our suspicion that the mob linking is bugged is correct and NC will correct it shortly

Heading back to the Tough Sipus junction room, this time, take the eastern path and head south from the path as it opens up. In this room you may find the following mini boss.

Flame Branch Flavi
Drops of interest (see link for loot table with item info):
Green Cloth and Chain Pants and Shoulders

One room left to go! Follow the linear path to the east. If he?s there, you?ll find the following mini-boss:

Black Smoke Asparn
Drops of interest (see link for loot table with item info):
Gold Spellbook
Green Leather and Plate Pants and Shoulders

Congratulations! You?ve now been through Fire Temple and can go tell your friends!!

Instance Quests
So far, these are the only ones I?ve found. I?ll edit if we find any more
Hannet?s Quest Series:
Hannet?s Lost Love <-- do this one before going to FT
Finding Denlavis <-- this is the one that send you to Denlavis? room inside of FT, with the insane room just past the boss room. It will give you some green boots as a reward
Hannet?s Vengeance <-- the final quest in her series that has you kill the end boss. It gives a blue weapon reward

I know there?s a single one in Abyss too, that can send you here to loot those quest chests spread throughout (nothing in them, just quest item), but you actually don?t need to go to FT for that one since there?s a single chest right below the quest giver in the Abyss that is the exact same as the ones in FT! So, you can ignore his quest text and the trip to FT for it. Sorry, but I don?t remember the quest name offhand.
